Take communion and eat together.
Begin your gathering by taking communion together and blessing the meal. If you don’t already have a Communion plan, someone can read 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.
After dinner, circle up as one group and turn to Acts 2:42-47. Have someone read the blurb below.
We meet as a House Church because this is a main way a Kingdom community becomes more like Jesus and brings Heaven to earth. We read Acts 2:42-47 to remind ourselves what is possible as we do this week-after-week. (Read the passage and then pray for God to do this in our midst!)

CONTENT | Scripture + Practice
Take turns reading paragraphs of this Overview aloud.
On Sunday, we talked about how God is the One who forms us into the image of Christ. We don’t form ourselves! Our role is to surrender and yield to God so his transforming grace can flow through our lives. One way to practice this open yieldedness is to have times of silence where we interact with God without effort or agenda.
Tonight, we are going to practice that together through Lectio Divina–a yielded way of approaching Scripture based in silence and listening to Jesus. We will read the Scripture three times. During each reading, there will be a prompt to pay attention to. We will conclude each reading with a minute of silence before we share.
Get in groups of 3-4 and choose one person to facilitate the readings, pauses and responses outlined below.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3:13-18
During Reading 1: Listen for one word or phrase the Holy Spirit impresses on you. After the reading, meditate on that word or phrase for two or three minutes.
Read Scripture
Pause: Meditate on the word or phrase highlighted to you.
Share: Simply verbalize the one word or phrase highlighted to you. No commentary is added.
During 2nd Reading: What do you feel? What specific situation in your life today relates?
Read Scripture
Pause
Share: Pray a prayer of response out loud in the group or to yourself.
During 3rd Reading: What is God’s personal invitation to you from the Scripture?
Read Scripture: Acts 11:19-30
Pause: Write down what the Lord may be saying to you or silently pray a prayer of thanks.
Share: One person close with prayer and then each person share what the Lord seems to be saying or how you’re experiencing or NOT experiencing God.
