Why We Pray.

We believe prayer is powerful. It’s not just a spiritual practice, but a partnership with God to see His heart and purposes fulfilled in our lives, our church, and our city. As a church, we don’t just want to talk about prayer, we want to be a praying people. Prayer is how we align with God, contend for breakthrough, and carry hope into a world that desperately needs it. When we pray, we’re bringing heaven to earth.

See below for ways to get involved in our prayer rhythms.

PRAY WITH US

Throughout the year, we gather together on Zoom to pray and seek God. These prayer gatherings are an opportunity to pause, connect, and pray together wherever we are.

Check our calendar for upcoming Zoom prayer times, and join us whenever you’re able. We’d love to have you pray with us!

FASTING RESOURCES

By fasting we empty ourselves, both physically and spiritually; and by praying we’re asking to be continually filled by the Spirit. It is important to remember that we’re not praying and fasting for something, we already have God’s attention. This practice allows us the opportunity to pay more attention to Him, and to experience His nearness and love for us in fresh and deeper ways. God desires to be with us and to speak to us!

See the guide for information about fasting and ideas on how to fast.

PRAYER POINTS

Here you’ll find prayer points centered around the promises we believe God is speaking over our church, our city, and our lives. Together, we’re praying with faith for a new day in New Orleans, greater influence and impact for the Church, and a fresh outpouring of God’s Spirit and power.

We’re also praying for the things we want to grow in together such as deeper union with God, Kingdom friendships, and unity, as well as the grace we need in this season for creativity, patient endurance, healing, and wholeness.

Use these prayer points to pray with us, whether you’re praying on your own or with others. Let them shape your prayers as we seek God together and believe for all that He wants to do in us, through us, and in our city.

Reminder: The last Sunday of each month is our Selah Sunday, where we pause from our Church-wide Sunday Gathering. Click here to learn more!
