Ministering to One Another

CONTENT | Community Inventory: Ministering to One Another

Take turns reading paragraphs of this Overview aloud.

This is the point of the night when we typically worship. Not only is this a time to worship Jesus, it is also a time to minister to one another. This is actually one of the most important ways to be the Church to one another when we gather:

  • Bearing each other’s burdens as it says in Galatians 6.
  • Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to one another as it says in Ephesians 5.
  • Encouraging one another (1 Thessalonians 5)
  • Comforting one another (1 Thessalonians 4)
  • Confessing our sins to one another (James 5:16)

The “one anothers” list is long and this portion of our night  is a great space for us to live this out together each week.

How do we do this? After taking some time to become aware of God’s Presence through worship, simply go pray for someone or ask someone to pray for you. If you know someone is going through a challenge, pray a prayer of hope and strengthening. You may want to Listen to Jesus first and ask for a specific scripture or encouragement to pray. Sometimes someone may have a prophetic encouragement for the whole group.

If you are having a hard time one week, ask someone to pray for you! As we share our needs with one another, big or small, and learn to confess our sins to one another, big or small, we will experience greater power, unity and restoration as a community.

Tonight, we are going to spend the rest of our time creating space for this, with the hope this will become more normal for us each week during our time of worship.

*HC Pastors: Facilitate time of worship and prayer.

COMMIT | Accountability + Prayer

Delegate for next House Church.

Who will host? Cook dinner? Facilitate communion? Facilitate worship?

Have someone pray to send us out in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Reminder: The last Sunday of each month is our Selah Sunday, where we pause from our Church-wide Sunday Gathering. :)
