Lent Resources

Lent is the season in the church calendar leading up to Easter and has been practiced by the church for hundreds of years. It is a season focused on fasting, giving, and prayer. The heart of Lent is to set aside some of our normal comforts and habits in order to make room for God’s presence.

How do I engage with lent?

Lent isn’t for productivity – it is not a diet or self-help motivator. It’s to unburden ourselves to flourish in God! This season is a sacred invitation to slow down, reflect, and make space for God. It is not about striving for perfection or proving our devotion. Rather, it is about coming as we are—flawed, weary, hopeful—and allowing God to meet us on the journey.

What could God do through our lives if they were open? If more of our time was available to dream and create with Him. What could be produced from an unhurried, less burdened heart? What could be produced in a Kingdom community of unhurried, less burdened, wholehearted disciples?

Guides & Practicals

This guide is a companion for your Lent journey. It is filled with Scripture, practices, resources, invitations and guided prayer to prompt your heart and mind. All of this is shared to deepen your walk with Jesus this Lent. Our encouragement is to interact with this guide as needed and desired and to think of it as handrails for what’s ahead. Everything shared is simply meant to equip, empower, and encourage you throughout this season!

After Lent

Celebrate

Don’t binge a Netflix series or scroll on TikTok for an hour! Instead, celebrate joys in Christ, big and small! Thank God for His presence throughout the Lenten Season. If you haven’t already, share your journey with family, friends, and at House Church. Tell at least one person what you experienced this Lent. Be honest, open, and transparent.

Reflect & Evaluate

Look back over your Feast Day Reflections – Did you notice any improved relationships, mental clarity, or spiritual growth?

Adopt New Habits

Maintain some boundaries established during the fast, like tech-free meals or limited social media – Is there anything I should keep?

Create Regular Digital Sabbaths

Implement weekly or monthly “digital sabbaths” to sustain the discipline of intentional disconnection – How can I maintain this new rhythm?

Reminder: The last Sunday of each month is our Selah Sunday, where we pause from our Church-wide Sunday Gathering. Click here to learn more!
