Thank you for being willing to lead your House Church through taking the Lord’s Supper this week! This habit of remembering together anchors us as a Kingdom community in Jesus and what He’s done for us. It helps us shift our focus from the busyness of the day to the sacred time of being together as the Church. It unifies us across our differences and reminds us we have a common-union in Christ.

To lead Communion, simply:

  1. Choose a Scripture that talks about who Jesus is or what He’s done for us.
  2. Keep an eye on the clock and gather the group together about 15 minutes after HC has started and people have had a chance to arrive and greet each other.
  3. Make sure everyone has the bread and juice.
  4. Read the Scripture and say a few sentences about what the Scripture means to you and how its truths are important for our House Church. *This should be kept to 2-3 minutes*
  5. Have everyone take the bread. Say, “This is Jesus’s body, broken for us, we eat this in remembrance of Him” then instruct people to eat the bread.
  6. Have everyone take the juice. Say, “This is Jesus’s blood, poured out for us, we drink this in remembrance of Him” then instruct people to drink the juice.
  7. Pray a prayer thanking Jesus, blessing our food and praying for the night.
